Rocket Performance Garage LLC roller rocker arms are forged from 8620 steel to provide increased strength for high-performance applications. The design utilizes a 1.640 rocker ratio, which is better suited for high-lift camshafts, and features bushings that are 50% longer than stock to extend the time between rebuilds. Larger surface areas on the thrust surfaces help reduce wear on the cylinder heads, while the roller mechanism eliminates thrusting on the valves to decrease overall valve train wear.
These components are engineered to handle up to .650" maximum valve lift and are recommended for camshafts with .550" or greater lift. Direct oil spray is applied to the valve springs rather than the rocker boxes, reducing the potential for valve breakage due to overheating. This configuration addresses the extra stress issues associated with big-lift cams and high-pressure valve springs, enhancing the durability and longevity of the valvetrain on M8 models.
