Defect Description

Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA is recalling certain 2024-2025 CZR300 (XMAX 300) scooters. The camshaft retainer bolt may not have been tightened properly, which can allow the bolt to loosen and back out.

Safety Hazard / Consequence

A loose camshaft retainer bolt can cause abnormal engine noise, timing misalignment, loss of power, or engine stall while riding, increasing the risk of a crash.

Factory Remedy & Repair Action

Dealers will inspect the camshaft retainer bolt and tighten or replace it as necessary to the 10 N·m specification with threadlocker, free of charge.

Manufacturer Notes: NHTSA Campaign 25V-778; owner notifications initiated in late 2024.
