Connect mechanical gauge to the quick-disconnect fuel rail fitting using an OEM banjo or T-adapter.

Measure across injector 2-pin harness socket with ignition OFF. Internal coil resistance increases by ~0.4% per °C rise above 20°C (68°F). Replace injector if resistance reads open (> 100 kΩ) or shorted (< 2 Ω).

Engine Pre-Flight Conditioning

Check and adjust valve clearances to spec before attempting sync. Ensure air filter is clean, spark plugs are fresh, and engine is fully warmed to operating temperature (80°C–90°C).

Manometer Connection & Damping

Connect 2-column liquid or digital manometer hoses to Manifold vacuum spigots with rubber sealing caps. Adjust in-line hose restrictor valves to dampen rapid intake pulsation until fluid columns stabilize.

Balance Screw Calibration

With engine idling at 1,150 - 1,250 RPM, identify Cylinder #1 (Master). Adjust Linkage sync screw between throttle bodies with TBW dual-bore balance until all cylinder columns are within 10 mmHg (1.33 kPa) of the master reference.

Throttle Blip & Locknut Verification

Blip throttle to 3,000 RPM 2–3 times and verify columns return evenly to idle balance. Tighten any balance screw locknuts securely, re-install rubber vacuum sealing caps, and verify idle speed.

Defect Description

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2021 Honda Rebel 1100 (CMX1100) motorcycles. The radiator cap may have been improperly formed during manufacturing, which could create an insufficient seal.

Safety Hazard / Consequence

An insufficiently sealed radiator cap may leak or spray hot coolant, increasing the risk of injury or crash.

Factory Remedy & Repair Action

Dealers will replace the radiator cap and refill any lost coolant, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 22, 2022. Owners may contact Honda service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is KN1.
